Montalbino, Trebbiano and Sangiovese: the authentic character of Tuscany

On the hills of Montalbino, in the heart of Tuscany, a small family-run business was born that tells the story of an authentic and generous territory through its wines. The Montalbino farm, now run by Giulio, is the result of the transformation of his parents' business, initially focused on hospitality and the production of extra virgin olive oil. With passion and respect for tradition, Giulio has chosen to dedicate himself to winemaking, focusing exclusively on native Tuscan vines.

The vineyards extend in the southern part of the Montalbino hills, between 200 and 300 metres above sea level. The soils, of Pliocene origin, are rich in marine fossils that confer a unique, sandy texture, capable of imprinting a very marked territorial identity on the wines. Montalbino labels reflect this deep bond with the land: they are straightforward, direct, fresh wines, perfect to enjoy in this season.

Among the most interesting productions are the Sangiovese Rosato and the Trebbiano Toscano, both certified organic and obtained through spontaneous fermentation. These are clean, vibrant wines that emphasise the expression of grape variety and terroir.

    Sangiovese Rosato

Produced from pure Sangiovese grapes vinified in whole bunches, this rosé is fresh and lively. The 2024 vintage is particularly generous in aromatic terms, with floral notes, fresh fruit and peach accents. In the mouth, it impresses with lively acidity and agile structure, making it an ideal companion for light dishes such as pizza, fish and pasta with tomato sauce.

    Trebbiano Toscano

A white wine that surprises and fascinates. The Trebbiano di Montalbino comes from a single vineyard facing north-west, located halfway up the hill and surrounded by a small forest. The 2024 vintage introduced an interesting experiment: a quarter of the grapes underwent a short 4-5 day maceration on the skins. The result is a wine with a delicate bouquet - as is typical of Trebbiano - but with a lively and tasty structure, with a pleasant acidity and fatness that perfectly balance the drinkability.

This monovarietal expression of Trebbiano, in an area traditionally vocated to reds, represents a successful challenge and a testimony to the ongoing rediscovery of this noble Tuscan vine, now also valorised in purity. It is perhaps the most interesting wine in the range, capable of intriguing and winning over even the most demanding enthusiasts.
