Poggio dei Duca di Calatroni tra i migliori spumanti al mondo

After being awarded the title of Bubble of the Year by Gambero Rosso's guide Vini d'Italia 2025, Poggio dei Duca Pas Dosé di Calatroni has won another important recognition from the famous food and wine publication. The Metodo Classico produced with Pinot Nero grapes from the winery in Montecalvo Versiggia (PV) took sixth place at the ‘Sentenza di Verona’.

The verdict, decreed on Monday 7 April during Vinitaly, saw Poggio dei Duca with its ‘great tension, fragrance on the nose, savoury and caressing mouthfeel due to the subtle bubble’ overtake several sacred monsters of Italian sparkling wine production such as Trendodoc Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2015, Alta Langa Pas Dosé 140 Mesi Zero ‘11 by Enrico Serafino and Franciacorta Bagnadore Riserva ’16 by Barone Pizzini.

"We have put together about fifteen labels that are well representative of their worlds: Champagne, Trentodoc, Franciacorta, Alta Langa, Oltrepò Pavese, but also Cava and English bubbles. - explain from Gambero Rosso - The hosted panel was quite heterogeneous, including journalists, communicators and oenologists specialised in Metodo Classico. For each wine, we chose the latest vintages on the market, and the tasting took place blind and with a single bottle. We thought about this tasting trying not so much to establish which was the best product, but rather to choose the most enjoyable, giving a score from 1 to 10".
